Semana Santa

Hey Peoples!

Well the last blog entry has been deleted because the video was taken down off youtube, so obviously not much point in leaving it! Now i find it's been re-uploaded but i can't be bothered re-writting the post! I'll stick the video up but no comments this time! keep an eye out for it!

Anyways! This post we are going to talk about Semana Santa! Which in English is Saint Week! So a while back now i had 2 weeks of holidays and the first week was saint week! i suppose this co-incides with our Easter Traditions! The whole week is filled with Prosessions which are all very religious! even though they give out lollies! haha XD but basically every day at least once or twice they have prossesions and march around the city carrying crosses or things like that! I went on a Friday morning with my flatemate to see a prosession! At one point some1 (who i was unaware of who, because they all where masks) signals me to come over and grab a massive handful of lollies and i'm just like um ok sure! why not! and then later when i got back to school i realized it was a student of mine who came up to me and told me it was him!

Anyways i think i'll just add a bunch of pics and if there is anything worth while talking about i'll put a caption underneath!

 These are Nazarines!

 They carry crosses as a sort of penitence

 This is a float of the last supper! It is made by Salzillo and there are a bunch of different floats all of the easter story! they are very beautiful!

 This is a band! Lot of them playing rather sad music!

Ok so these floats are very heavy! you can see by the way they are walking! some1 said 100,000kgs but i can't believe that! that's like 100 tones! haha maybe more like 1,000kgs!
